The MAC CUP HOLIDAY HANDBALL TOURNAMENT

Looking for a way to relieve some stress and keep your handball game sharp during the busy holiday season? Look no further than the Michigan Athletic Club’s MAC Cup Holiday Handball Tournament!

Rick Leonard of the Michigan Handball Association will be on hand to help facilitate this unique Holiday Tournament. Players will be divided into two groups based on ability. Each division will run for approximately 90 minutes. (10 – 11:30 a.m. & 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.). A third division may be added if needed. Each division will have two-man teams playing against other two-man teams. Players will play singles against the other team for one point and then join up with partners to play doubles vs. the other team.

Food and beverage will be included in your entry fee. Winners will receive prizes and well as their names engraved on the new prestigious MAC Cup! What a great day for 3 wall handball!

Participation of 46 players equals record set at Belle Isle.

Congratulations to the Ohio state five who had participants in the open and consolation finals.  In an extremely hard fought match,

Ben (endurance man) Hall and Jon (ace serves) Ferry (OSU), prevailed in the tie-breaker against Ryan (watch this get) Inman and Tim (why is this ball so hard) Scott.

There were many extremely long rallies and unbelievable gets.  It is always amazing to see how easy it is to play and coach from the bench.

In the consolation, the "iron man" team of George (got it) Goodman and Mike (when do I get to play) Stock, the team that played 5 matches,  took the victory from Tim (mine) Thompson and Will (casual kill shot) Stiles (OSU).

For after match enjoyment, Maeve Erbecker did not disappoint with her gourmet brownie selection.  There was a strong but unconfirmed, rumor floating around that Ted Gramattico wants to supply game balls for every match next year.

THANKS TO ALL THOSE WHO DONATED - MAKING THS YEAR'S TOURNAMENT POSSIBLE

Carl Harlow, Joe Ivy, Angus McIntyre, Chris Monsour, John Nix, Stewart Shevin, Tim Thompson
